Yummy straw
Rowan is in the pedal car and just received a face full of straw from a lorry on the other side of the road, Yummy!
Mechanical problem!
It's ok, it was just the chain that came off. 30 seconds later it's back on and we are on our way
Forced to stop!
We have just had to stop due to escaped horses on the road, we caught them with the help of Tom Willet's mum and then carried on our way
Met an old head girl
Just did a driver change at Thurlby motors, gave them a poster and was politely informed that the lady we spoke to was Giles Academy Head Girl in 1976, she passes on her best wishes to the team
Boston standard
Just met our beautiful Boston standard reporter and Skegness standard will meet us at the finish
Make sure you see us
We will be starting out celebratory ride in the pedal car from Boston to Skegness very shortly. If you are in Boston make sure to watch out for us. We will be coming down west street, into the market place then through town past oldrids and on towards the hospital
A chance to see us
We will be riding the pedal car from wickes car park in Boston at 10.30 this morning. We will be coming through the town centre, and on to Skegness for 3pm to meet both mayors of Skegness and Boston, the media and Mr Vidler. Come and support us!

Timing update
We will clear the 24 hour time. We should be under 20 hours. Fingers crossed and wish us luck. That's got to be worth a donation!

Breaking news!
We have kept this secret until now but we will not be arriving in Skegness at the predicted 3pm tomorrow...... WE WILL BE THERE TODAY!!!!!!
Yes that's right Giles Academy have done it in their usual style and are now trying to get to the finish in Skegness in under 24 hours!!!!! Get donating!
Uh oh! Just been flagged down to stop
Just had a lady jump out of her car, frantically waving her arms whilst hastily approaching the pedal car and minibus. Someone complaining that we have held her up for a few minutes on her way to work? No! She stopped us to give a £5 donation and wish us the best of luck :-)
Marvellous McDonalds Munchies
Every member of the team met up for some much needed breakfast to refuel themselves. McDonalds seemed the best choice at 5am
Riders receive team talk
Riders doing the current 4 hour session have just received a team talk from staff, they are all doing fantastic and were just reminded that even though they are getting tired it is all for a good cause
Maddy the machine again
She may be the smallest rider in the team (the only one needing extra padding on the seat just so she can see out top) but she is once again proving that size doesn't matter with another excellent performance. She is averaging 25 miles per hour through the quaint villages at 3.15am, even up the hills she is doing 20mph!!!!!!!! 
Welcome to Thursday
It's the very early hours of Thursday morning and the riders are starting to get tired but not physically as they are still powering the pedal car through the darkness. So to keep themselves awake they are discussing what will be their first meal after the event and whether or not this should come before or after a sleep. Riveting stuff, it could become the new Archers on Radio 4!
Welcome to Thursday
It's the very early hours of Thursday morning and the riders are starting to get tired but not physically as they are still powering the pedal car through the darkness. So to keep themselves awake they are discussing what will be their first meal after the event and whether or not this should come before or after a sleep. Riveting stuff, it could become the new Archers on Radio 4!
So Mr Walls, the team would like to know what the next challenge is already...
The team are already asking what challenge they can do next. They have 3 suggestions:
1. Do the same coast to coast ride on the pedal car but in 24 hours!
2. Land's End to John O'Groats in the pedal car
3. Enter the British Championship 24 hour race and beat the distance set by the last Giles team in 2009.
All 3 sound good to us!
Tom post-ride

Jakub refuses to stop!
Jakub is still going after 6 miles in half an hour. We reminded him he can stop whenever he wants to let a new rider on the car, he replied with a big shake of his head! We have now more than recover lost time and are now ahead of schedule! The team of 10 are so fired up we may to slow them down! Mr V be very proud

Difficult but determined
The hills are making this challenge even harder. Although the terrain is difficult the student's determination is overwhelming as they just refuse to give up. Nothing can get in the way to stop Giles Academy getting to Skegness. Shannon is battling with the continuous hills like a champion
Attention everyone all teacher!
Attention all teachers, Rowan Mason is on the pedal car and......... He is not saying a single word, yes that is correct he is not talking!
Big problem could spell disaster!
The gears appear to be slipping on the monster hills!!! Is this strips the gear then the car will not be able to carry on due to the specialist parts that it uses. Mr Relton is keeping a close eye on the car, he may have to stay awake for the whole 48hours!!!!!
Maddy the machine
Maddy has just proved she is a pedalling machine taking the car up very long and steep hills.
Driver team change
We have swapped teams and their kit over in the minibuses. Team 1 are going for some much deserved food and rest after covering 37 miles in 4 hours. Team 2 are well under way with Jakub being the first rider in the pedal car.

We will be doing a live update on BBC Radio Lincolnshire in the next 10 to 20 minutes
22 miles done
We have done 22 miles in two and half hours. Rain has stopped for the time being. We have also had our first puncture. Luke Pettit is on the car right now and doing well, oh wait hang on!!!! We have just stopped with what appears to be a mechanical issue!
And we're off!
Arrived!
We have arrived in Flint which is our starting point. We still have a lot of setting up to do but first we need some lunch
